The Speed Queen TC5 is actually a good modern washer but I can’t have an opinion on the TR series but I’ve worked on some. Not too sure about how good the TR is but that also seems well built.

Speed Queen washers are built like tanks but are pretty expensive and they will last 25 years on normal use. The flaw about the TC5 is that they had to use a normal eco cycle and have no load size selection.

They also have a metal outer drum that’s extra durable and they use a high quality motor. But Speed Queen doesn’t make the quietest washers - that’s one downside.

The TC5 also has no lid lock, so you can add garments anywhere in the wash.

I get less Speed Queen machines than anything else to repair, which proves their reliability.

My favorite washer of all time is the Maytag dependable care which is why my username is “Maytaglover68”.

If you want a good modern washer, they don’t make anything good except Speed Queen anymore.

Speed Queens aren't sold in big box stores, and most people wouldn't want to spend extra on one either so Todd made an excellent point. I recently got a SF7 for the cabin but had the insurance company not covered for it, I wouldn't have bought one. Not even the TC5 despite that it's a good machine. I have an LG because that's what my local technician recommended and I'd certainly buy one again.
