Automatic Washer - The world's coolest Washing Machines, Dryers and Dishwashers

Help Support :

OK, this is probably the most useless and boring thing ever invented! Why the hell would someone want this, much less PAY for it!?!?

Give me a real automatic washer any day!

This is actually an electronic training device for schools to buy . Schools and colleges teaching microprocessor programming and other such electronic trades would find this device very valuable.

I imagine this device is primarily designed to allow students to design, build, and write a program for a small computer similar to what would be installed in a typical modern washing machine. This unit looks like it would interface with the student's project in order to provide the simulation of an actual machine. Granted, it would be fun to hook up an electronic timer I built to a real machine and watch it work, I don't imagine my local community college would be up for buying 30-50 washing machines, and then trying to find a place to store them after the project is done.

I imagine the device would also be useful if you needed to troubleshoot an electronic control board you are attempting to repair...or if you just want to learn how the little "black boxes" inside your machine actually work!

Washer-electronics trainer

Saw the link-does sound like an interesting device-was designed for training purposes. The washer application is good becuase its so common-everyone has one-so it would be an application the student would be famaliar with.Besides washers-the device could teach the student other microprocesser programming applications.Wonder if the device could actually be interfaced with some of those electronic timer washers out there-basically the device is sort of an electronic washer timer set up to be programmable. That would really be cool-you could use it to write the favorite wash programs with your own machine!
This is sure a far cry from the 5 tube radios mounted on a large board in the electronics shop in the high school I went too! They had a 5 tube radio mounted on a 4'X6' board and the thing actually worked-the parts were removable so the teacher could "bug" the unit for the students to fix.And you could trace the signals thru it with a scope or meter.
