Scrap pile

Whoa John, what a treasure trove of a scrap pile for spare parts. I have the older Agitator model gwl11 but wouldn't mind being able to try out the wash plate version. The parts whether lids, agitators or tubs and control panels seem to command high asking prices on EBay.

Same washer model WL26CW1 that I picked up on 3/5 and refurbed.  Serial on mine is LYU808667.  This AquaSmart version has detergent and softener dispensers, no bleach.  Bleach option is available on the Whites cycle, it stops and beeps 9 mins into the wash with the display advising to pour diluted bleach into the detergent funnel and press Start to continue.

I also have a newer model version (S/N June 2009) with three dispensers.

I'm not clear on your reference to funny agitator.  Do you mean the EcoSmart agitator toploaders?

AquaSmart has fully variable water level, not limited to 5 levels like the EcoSmart.  Basket float is the primary factor for HE fill level, but there's also a minimum level.  Basket float level is a factor in the calcuation for agitation speed.

Most cycles that can run on deep fill (non-HE mode) run some agitation at HE level to check motor load resistance for calculating the deep fill level.  The various Bulky cycles fill higher by default.

Sheets cycle is kinda odd in that it fills to a fixed non-HE level, agitates a bit, then drains some water, apparently to attain appropriate impeller contact.  Runs three repeating agitation actions, aim is to avoid tangling.  Two sets of sheets washes better than one set IMO.

There are several AquaSmart videos on my YouTube. Wash action is quite good IMO, better than the lethargic action of many newer HE impeller machines, and the wash period isn't as long (12 to 15 mins is typical). Rinsing takes up most of the cycle time.

I sent documents with a bunch of technical design detail about both AquaSmart and AeroSmart to the email addy on your AW profile.  Some of it may be F&P marketing propaganda.  :-)

Hi Glenn, I have not had a chance to check these out they are still sitting in the same spot in the shop.

You should come for a visit and help check these out, My friend Bob in Cleveland just got a F&P top load gas dryer that he is having fun using, Bob is into dryers as much as washers.
