Nancy Wilson!!!????

deeptub! Couldn't you use someone else? I love her! How bout some Heavy Metal? Oh! How about Patti LaBelle? I LOVE Miss Patti! If anyone could get that squirrel out of the house i know it would be her!!! Sorry Miss Patti.

We had mice in this house during a couple of the coldest winters. I could hear them at night when I was downstairs watching tv, scurrying around in the rafters above the basement floor. I bought some of the small no kill mouse traps and used peanut butter, they worked but there must have been babies. Eventually I had to resort to mouse bait and that finished them off. I never did figure where they got in but I believe from the attached garage attic into the house somehow.
Here's a point of interest... Alberta is the only place in North America that is totally rat free. You are not allowed to own a pet rat, rats can't be brought in for lab purposes either. The provincial govt also has a "rat border guard" along the Saskatchewan and Montana borders to turn them away should they try and enter. I'm not kidding. Any rat sightings anywhere on the farms along the border or anywhere in the province, you call them and they come in to destroy them before they have a chance to get any further.

bodygroom

i was SOO ready to be turned on by that male presenter, then he went into his gross *broadcaster* type speech. too bad most gay men are already shaving their bodies more than Miss Elizabeth Taylor! call me old fashioned, but @rm9it hair is something that has no place in public discussion.

Nancy

eluxomarty--I love Nancy Wilson too! I wanted something that I would enjoy listening to from the other end of the house. Plus, it was the Like In Love album and her scat into to On The Street Where You Live always startles me a little, so I figured it would really do a number on the critter at max volume.

o my paws and whiskers

Is this, like, a GAY thread, or something? Or is it a secret marketing tool for the green grocers down the street? Nuts, peaches, carrots, kiwis...
At least we know what you can shave the cats with to get their fur for the attic...

Toggle,

The best plan is to select the best bait and appropriately sized humane trap. But to do that you must identify the intruders. Are they squirrels, or raccoons? Additionally, before you trap them, you need to seal off their entrances into the attic so more don't come in after you get rid of the ones you have.

Raccoons are nasty dangerous critters so I'm hoping what you have is squirrels.

Best bait for squirrels, I've found, is to grind some almonds or pecans and some raw shelled sunflower in the cuisinart, then mix it with more or less equal parts of peanut oil and honey.

For raccoons, they seem to love granola cereal topped with honey and raw shelled sunflower seeds.

Orchard Supply Hardware (owned by SKmart) has both types of traps.
