Please!
If you don't feel you can fix the Thermador, I understand, but fa goodnitz sakes, find another vintage unit! GE's are reasonably plentiful and parts are still decently available.
If you go new, you're opening up a whole can of worms with electronic motherboards and slipshod engineering. Everything will be cut to the absolute minimum, such as oven insulation. Anything that used to require adjustment is now blamed on the motherboard, and replacing it under warranty never solves the problem, it seems. There is a reason for the huge numbers of negative reviews current products get.
A new unit might be okay for Ms. Average Housewife, who is replacing a unit perhaps ten years old and was never used to real quality in the first place, but you know better. And you will rue the day, trust me.
