Automatic Washer - The world's coolest Washing Machines, Dryers and Dishwashers

Help Support :

This isn't something you see everyday. Early 70's 40" TOL Hotpoint with a SCO, lighted panel, etc.  I almost like the control layout better than the GE equivalent. If only it was white...

Props should be given to the seller. One of the more unique ways of saying, "hoping to go to a good home"

Reply with your email address, how you plan to use it, and if you've got the ability to move it in a timely manner and I will keep it on file for when we approach demolition of our kitchen. The best story will win.

The stove outlets are 3 prong, yes, but the outlet in the wall, next to the toaster, is 2 prong 20 amp.  It looks like it's original from the 1950s as does that style of laminate counter.

In the 70s, we had relatives that bought a new 1977 portable kenmore dishwasher for their quaint cape cod styled farmhouse.  There were only two 2-prong wall outlets at the kitchen counters but they had a white 30" electric stove with panel plugs.  Even though the stove was about 5' from the sink, they would position the dishwasher between the two and stretch the cord so it would plug into the 3-prong outlet on the stove.

I agree with Ben!

Love the post, they are looking for a good home, and they are also doing it with enough advance notice! Many times I have seen ranges listed as available 'within the next 24 hours' or something very immediate... because the new appliances will be coming in and the old ones will be removed (and likely scrapped) by the delivery company. It's such a shame to see so many great appliances gone.

I, too, think this is slightly superior to the General Electric equivalent, in that albeit being a simpler design, does the same tasks, with like the GE top-of-the-line, even the master oven cleaning the interior panels of the auxillary oven...

What a great find...
