in this console in that according to the above ad they used an air-suspension design, which had been around since Edgar Villchur and AR popularized it in the mid-'50s, yet consoles from the '50s to '70s and beyond almost invariably used open back speaker compartments, not even ported designs. Odd as either would have markedly improved particularly the bass performance at not a lot of cost. One exception to this was Stromberg-Carlson who employed weird speaker enclosures made of a sort of waxy impregnated sawdust/fiberboard similar to Homasote, which were mounted inside the speaker-enclosure part of the cabinet on heavy Fiberglas padding to isolate them. Very effective and a step beyond what even high-end consoles like Fisher had.
