FREE early ISE TOL Dishwasher in Pittsburgh.

One of my friends from my swing dancing life is replacing her dishwasher. It's an early ISE badged Kitchen Aid. It's no newer than the 20 series. It is leaking, possibly due to a worn door gasket. It's a model CL Supreme.

If anyone would like this dishwasher, it's free for the taking in Pittsburgh. Reply to this post or message me and I shall put you in contact with the owner to arrange how to get it. She'd rather it go to a new home than to scrap. It was in use up until this week.

I've spent so much time browsing these forums since Dave introduced me to it, I figured I may as well take the plunge and make an account. The dishwasher is mine and has been subjected to daily use, presumably since the day it was installed in the kitchen sometime before I was born... It came with my house when I bought it four years ago.

It never gave me a problem until it spat out a rather large amount of water at the beginning of its cycle a few days ago. It came out in the lower left hand corner between the door and the lower panel and ran the rest of its cycle without problem.

I'm afraid it's all downhill from here. Soon you'll have a basement full of vintage laundry equipment and a kitchen full of the very finest large and small appliances history has to offer. I know this because it happened to me.

Who can tell anything about this dishwasher. Is it an 18, 19, or 20 series Kitchen Aid in disguise? How old is it? Who is going to get it?

First ISE DW

It is similar to a KD21-22 series DW, these did not appear till 1986-7 when WP bought the KA name.

This is the same DW that I installed a few years ago in Mom's house.

I likened it to a 21 series KA. Works great.

I'm selling Mom's house now and considering a swap with the Whirlpool
DU1100 I have, but I may just leave it there. The WP is a good performer.

What Dave Volvoguy said is correct-----I have 23 machines in the basement, not all yet working and installed, but most. 4 dishwashers cluttering up the kitchen and dining room, and a washer/dryer set in the garage awaiting indoor space.

So the subject machine has only a single final rinse?  I thought ISE started putting their badge on KA machines starting with the 20 series.  The buttons and the non-integrated door handle pre-date the 21 series -- or was ISE left with this old panel design to use on what was otherwise a series 21 system?

First ISE DW

Dave, That was a Kitchen-aid Design came out in 1986-7 when WP took over KA, yes it looked like a KD-20, they used older style control parts for these first ISE DWs.
Dave you work for a parts company you can easily look up when the first ISE DWs came into being. Remember we were an ISE factory servicer when this merger occurred so I find your last post a little insulting.

ISE did also sell WP style DWs in the late 70s up until the time WP took over KA, but the first ones that were KAs came out as a result of the WP acquisition of KA.

Dates.

I was thrown off by the older console styling. Although I do work in a parts house, I have no literature at my disposal giving any information on dates of production, order of model evolution, or anything beyond the most basic of parts cross reference material. I wish I did have such information at my fingertips. It would answer so many questions.
