Hi guys

My mum has decided to retire her 1990 AEG favorite dishwasher, it has worked without fault every year since 1990 but recently developed a problem with the lower wash arm. It has worn a little and rocks from side to side and this movement causes the star circlip to pop off and the wash arm to pop off also.

All it really needs is a new lower wash arm or a few washers and new clip.

But last year Black Friday sales saw her buying a new all singing all dancing Beko

So the AEG is ready to go. If it's not to one of you guys its to the scrap man. It's free for collection I don't mind if it's personal or couriers.

It's based in consett north west Durham

Thanks Richard

IIRC this one is similar to the Favorit 578 I had. This range has a pressure switch to regulate the water level. With some of them (including mine) the pressure switch would get clogged with debris from the dishes. The series that was introduced later had a water level switch. Does this machine ever make sounds that indicate it's pumping air around?

Does your mother like the Beko?

Possibly yes

Hi I know when it fills it runs and sounds very noisy for a few seconds then re fills and goes quiet.

Yes the Beko is very good. I have to say it looks very smart and cleans very well. My mum is a notorious pre rinser or soaker. So I'm trying to persuade her not to in the beko as it tackles anything. I doubt it would last 26 years though !!

just my two cents worth, sense, if I may;

Even though mom is an avid pre rinser, once in a while we buy a new mug, dish, or bowl which has a sticker on the bottom.
We forget to clean it off before it goes in the dishmaskin, and the paper and glue can clog the filter, etc.
