Free Maytag

top load washer which someone is giving away in Honolulu on FB Marketplace, they claim that it still works flawlessly.
Does anyone know approximately how old it is?

Washer is 1990-1993.

Dryer is mid to late 1970's.

The person does not know the value of the Maytag, it'll be snapped up in a jiffy, if it already hasn't been.
There are several entrepreneurs in HNL who cruise the neighborhoods for discarded old school washers, freshen them up and sell them for a handsome profit...

That dryer is the rare one year only 1974 model.

My mom had the matching 1974 washer in white with selector knobs on the top of the console instead of the front.  With the Quiet-Pak transmission, Penta-Swirl agitator, Soak-n-Wash feature with automatic detergent dispenser, along with bleach and softener dispensers, they were just a notch below the Lady Kenmores.  Her washer was still going strong after more than 25 years when it was prematurely discarded.  Grrrr.

 

I'm getting an orbital vibe from the Maytag.  Lots of verbiage on the left.  1987 at the oldest.

Hell, I'm just remembering I had the matching washer to that dryer (in white) when I was in California! Always wanted a dryer to match...thankfully the washer went to a good home to one of our folks on this website.

Indeed they are!
However there's a couple of guys from the Wahiawa and Aiea areas who probably snapped the Maytag up in a heartbeat.
These guys look for discarded old school DD Whirlpools, freshen them up a bit and sell them for a decent profit.
I would not be surprised if they offered the seller some $ to sweeten the deal up a bit...
