Yeah, P-7 self-cleaning didn't come out until '63. I wonder what gives here?

Either this person is entirely mistaken about the date or the self-clean feature, or GE had some units out prior to '63. Maybe test units?

Maybe the house was built in '58, but the oven dates from the 60's, and the owner just assumes it came with the house?

Or, they just don't know what self-cleaning means

Folks, look at the picture. I see NO sliding lock for self-clean feature and that was the ONLY way to lock the oven. Yes, I know I"m near-sighted, but I think this isn't a SC oven.
