Automatic Washer - The world's coolest Washing Machines, Dryers and Dishwashers

Help Support :

I don't know about you, but my woman friend and I are going to be at the local premier of the "Sex And The City" movie!

Linn and I are both big fans. She'd deny it, but she's sort of a Miranda, and I do have my Sam moments.

So, when are you going to see it?

Lawrence/Maytagbear

Sounds interesting.

IIRC one of the actressess was interviewed (I heard it on radio); she said something to the effect of:

It's not a realistic show, women tear each other's throats out. OH MY!

I guess---

that I might be one of the few (very?) fans of SATC here. Oh, well.

Got back abour 45 minutes ago.

If you are a fan, you will probably love this movie!

All the women had enough screen time. Jennifer Hudson was EXCELLENT!

My only, only gripe.. not enough Standford Blatch. However, he does hook up with this cutie-hottie wedding planner.

Linn lied it, too. She sprang for dinner, I bought the tickets.

4/4, will see again, though matinee, and will get the dvd.

i will love SATC.......

because i loved the series (but didn't care for the finale). it'll be so nice to see everyone again. caught mario cantone on "the view" the other day. i imagine he's as good in the movie as he was on the series. i'll probably see a monday matinee....avoid the crowds.

i now await "the sopranos".....the movie.

It had a weak opening night here ... 1/3 less than the 2nd week of Indy Jones. But everything was on the weak-side, probably something going on like high school graduation. Hopefully Saturday and Sunday will improve.

For those of us who live in or near New York City, the places, the options, the attitudes and way-of-thinking reek "HOME". Perhaps those from smaller cities and towns find it a bit harder to realate to.

NYC is one of those places you LOVE or HATE. Sometimes both simultaneously. I mean how many out there can say they have seen an everyday ordinary hooker, transsexual, transvestive, leather-man, hippie, druggie, punked-out pierced and "tatted" trendie just taking the subway to get to work.

Methinks I needs to goes sees dis chick-flick.

Doesn't the film industry have any new original material to entertain us with than taking a televison show that is stupid, entertaining, and then putting it up on the big screen as if the series weren't shoved down our throat on prime time to begin with?

How pathetic that new and creative ideas and sripts can't get made into movies, and Hollywood has to copy TV to get people to go to the movies. It's like the lizzard that tries to swallow its tail and ends back swallowing his own head.

Myopic recycled concepts get really tired.

I read it grossed $26 million the first day, they are looking for a $75 million weekend for this movie. All I can say is wow!
Those numbers pertain to the "big city" markets. Opening day here was a whopping $485.

Today's gross (Saturday) here wasn't significantly better than Friday.

Philip, there's literally thousands of films made every year that are shown in art houses or go straight to DVD. There's no shortage of creativity out there, but that's not what the major studios are about - they are there to please the crowds.

Lawrence, my partner and some of his friends had a "date" to go see it (spouses were not invited, lol) and they enjoyed it very much as well. And my sister and her girlfriends were crazy about it.

I never watched the show (I'm much too cheap for that kind of cable) but I may go see it, although I think I had enough of listening to rail thin, fashionably dressed women talk about sex when I worked at the Four Seasons. But heck, it's a movie without explosions or gratuitous violence, so I'd be happy to get dressed up for that :-)

And Toggle - I absolutely love NYC. My dad worked there a lot back in the 60-80's, and we would go visit him frequently. Granted, it was strictly expense-account tourism (usually at the Walfdorf, which was NOT a "kid-friendly" hotel at that time, and really not even that nice back then. A bit tired, you might say) but I used to wander around quite a bit, particularly when I got a bit older. I used to love the "old" Times Square, with all the sleaziness, and Rockefeller Center, and St. Patricks, and Grand Central, and riding the subway, and going to the Automat. It really is quite a town. Wish I could get back there more often.

~Wish I could get back there more often.

I have been known to do "insiders" tours of NYC. AW friends are welcome!
