Has anyone heard of a Fridgette washer? Twin tub. Craigs List here in the Seattle area has one with a Maytag portable dryer.

Also, I'm looking to get my first vintage Maytag washer to use as a daily driver. Center dial of course. Any recommendations on model? I can use lots of help!!

Hi,
I have a Fridgette in Coppertone, identical to the one pictured on C/L. Misplaced pictures of it and none are posted in my profile. The tub impeller is on the bottom v. a Hoover TT which is on the side. All metal, spinner tub is too. The name is misleading! one would think it would have a baby Thumper agitator in it LOL :). If that is what you are wishing for I just burst that bubble for ya'. But, it has been great to have, great to use for soaking items in very warm water with enzyme pre-soak, temp stays quite warm for about an hour. Bought ours for $35 tho' shipping was quite (!) a bit more to SC (from OH in 2006 - IIRC)

What a cutie!

Any chance of better pictures? Wow I never new this existed before. I know there was a Frigidaire Twinny for the UK market, but not the US.

What a great website this is!

That machine looks just like the little samsung machine I've got, courtesy of Toggles. Great machine, a lot of fun, but it has a bad spin tub boot. I've managed, with great difficulty, to reseat the boot, only to have it pop off again with the first use. So she pees on the floor, relegating her to outdoor use. Still, fun!

so nice...reseating that 'boot' LOL :)

Dear Thomas - no prob for me - time to take some (more) pics, a vid? hmm...
Eric - yep, same thing happened to moi, and mine has always been an outdoor (actually garage) kind of gal. She doesn't mind, happily churns any dirt I can give her away in just a few short minutes - in my experience washing anything (not soaking) for more than 3 minutes is not worth it - unless of course you like to create lint :-)
