We rented a house in Savannah Georgia, and the dishwasher was a Fridgidaire. I didn't note the model number, but it had a dial which allowed you to select the program (normal, rinse only etc.) which did not advance during the program, and 3 soft buttons for hi-temp wash, heat dry, and start/cancel. It was AWFUL. It was very noisy, and I had never experienced a machine that switched from the lower spray arm to the upper, presumably to be economical. It didn't clean even dishes that were rinsed before hand, properly. The washer dryer combo was also a Fridgidaire, and the hot temperature setting for the washer alternated between hot and "warm" water, quite frustrating. The dryer was noisy, must have been the bearings, and took forever to dry stuff.

Just a rant...

Yeah, my grandparents used to have a Frigidaire stacked combo unit and it sucked. The washer was noisy, and the whole unit shook during the spin. The dryer also took forever, so glad they don't have it anymore/

unfortunately,

lots of manufacturers are mixing cold water to save energy even when you select hot.I recently emailed Whirlpool and asked them why this was happening.Taking freedome of choice away from customers. I hate the new top loaders and that's one of the reasons.Nobody should be able to take choices of wash and rinse temperaturs away from the consumer. They had nothing to say other than they do it to keep the energy use down---BULLSHIT!!If they have to do that, they need to take their "Cruel action agrivator rust bucket top loaders off the market.WAKE UP AMERICA!! I wash all my white cotton clothes as well as bed sheets and pillow cases, colorfast towels and white throw rugs in HOT 170Fwash water. They stay white with a little help from Clorox splashless bleach.

I remember that dishwasher....

....I had one of those with that wash system in my apartment in Beaverton years ago. The wires to the timer overheated, and it caught on fire. Happily I was home and caught it early.

I currently have one of the Frigidaire made Kenmore 18 inch dishwashers. Old D&M design....no issues for 8 years now.
