Frigidaire 1-18 - bad Kingston timer motor

I'm a noobie here -- great forum with tons of good info! My wife and I inherited a flame red Frigidaire 1-18 (model no. WCD3T) with our new (to us) 1970's era modern house. It's been running fine, until recently when the timer stopped advancing. I checked the voltage to the timer motor; it was 120V, and the timer motor was getting hot, but the white plastic cog wasn't moving. The timer motor says "Kingston Model 60" on one side, and "3/5R 60Hz" on the other. The timer itself says "Kingston 0636280 80 3359" on it. I've scoured the web looking for either of these parts, to no avail. Does anyone have, or know of anyone who has, these parts? Many thanks.

KINGSTON TIMER MOTORS

Try the super search on this sight someone a while ago was talking about rebuilding these timer motors. In any case don't give up these are not that uncommon yet.

I purchased one for my 1-18 from stoneparts.com give them a try. I think the person I spoke with there was named Gerald, it was about 2 years ago.

I have one that's Poppy Red also, why don't you share a picture of yours with us.

Thanks Mike and Joe for the pointers. I wrote stoneparts.com yesterday; no luck there. I spoke with a woman at Modern Parts House today, who told me they would "do some digging" to see if they could come up with the part.

John, I'm thinking that rebuilding the motor is my last resort. Has anyone tried doing this? I'm not afraid of that kind of stuff in general; it just sounds like getting the case open is a little tricky, and of course I can picture all the electrical / gear innards jumping out when I open it up.

Will get a picture of this machine up soon. Since my first post I've discovered that it's "poppy red"; just wish I had the matching dryer! (The dryer's a 1990's WCI POS, not worth repairing when it goes.)

Thanks Andrew! I'm much relieved, since this should hold me if all else fails... Will send them an inquiry tomorrow to see if they have one in stock, or if we're looking at a timer rebuild process.

Does anyone have advice on how to pick up a matching poppy red 1-18 dryer? (besides the usual outlets - craigslist, ebay, etc, which don't have anything right now) I'm liking having this classic appliance that I didn't fully appreciate until now!

Take a close look at the drive gear and see if it's broken.

How to Repair the Kingston Model 60 Timer Motor

The drive gear appears OK on the outside. But, I can't turn it in either direction, so I suspect that something in the gear assembly broke inside, and is gumming up the works.

That's exactly what happened to my timer motor, the timer was fine itself but the motor crapped out, and I couldn't turn it either. Changing the motor is really easy after you find a new one.
