I was just watching a video on YouTube by "swestoyz," when I noticed there was a Cold Water option on the control panel with "Rinse," "Normal," and "Wash, Rinse" on it. Was this a setting for a Cold Wash/Rinse?

I'm assuming that "Normal" would be perhaps a Warm Wash and Rinse, and that a hot wash was only selectable via a certain cycle?

The "Cold Water" selector is used on 1-18 washers with a "Fabrics" selector. These washers have preset wash and rinse temperatures and agitation/spin speeds for the fabric selection chosen like this chart shows. When the "Cold Water" selector knob points "Normal" the water temps follow those on the chart below, in the other positions, it supersedes the preset water temperature in the specific part(s) of the wash mentioned.

For example, with the "Cold Water" selector pointing "Soak-Wash-Rinse" like in this picture, the preset water temps will be superseded by cold water in every part of the wash cycle. If the "Cold Water" selector would have been left at "Normal" the water temp would be "Hot" for the wash and "Warm" for the rinse as the "Fabrics" selector is set to "Colorfast".
If the "Cold Water" selector would have been set to "Rinse" then there would be hot water for the wash and cold water for the rinse.
