Here's a sweet late 70's Frigidaire Compact 30 - bascially brand new. Anyone into avocado???

These are coming up increasingly at ARC and Savers

as well as the other flea and thrift stores.
Tells me they must be good ranges and are being tossed because of home sales and the attendant renovations, not because of failure.

Since you ask, Lawrence - I hate avocado. Nearly as much as I hate harvest gold.

Pank, turquoise, daisy yellow and white are real appliance colors. Coppertone and poppy red can be ok, too.

But that fake woodgrain, textured surfaces, two-tone color scheme, stainless steel and those two 'colors' I listed above, ick. Black is so hard to keep clean, it makes stainless steel look easy.

Of course, everyone has a right to their own likes and dislikes...just I would never buy anything that color if I couldn't repaint it.

I have pretty much the same range, in white. Except the clock is on the left rear, not at the right front.

Good range, although I've never used the oven. Have used the burners a bit. Need to service the control for the left front burner - it doesn't do low-medium. Just medium-high. Changing elements didn't fix it... probably something with the control, probably corrosion/debris, but haven't yet gotten around to pulling the control panel apart to find out. And the clock is non-functional, of course .

It's a well made drop-in range. Except I much prefer gas.

Wow! Looks like the Deluxe model with manal clean not Electriclean oven.But,since it has the Cookmaster Controls,it incorporates an automatic on/off oven programable for start time as well as how many hours you want it to bake.To me,that's a must because I like getting a meal together and placing it in my oven to start by itself,bake for the designated time and automaticaly shut off. I get home from work,throw a salad together or steam some vegies and have a wonderfull home cooked meal with little or no fuss.unfortunately, I never was that fond of avacado green.We had a WESTINGHOUSE 19 cu ft sxs refrigerator a Montgomery Ward Signature(Tappan)30 inch gas continuous cleaning oven range,a Sunbeam Mixmaster,Oster blender,Regal Polyperk,and under the cabinet Rubbermaid storage drawers.My Dad painted all the wood cabinets avacado and put an avacado Formica counter top in. YUK!!!!!!!!!!!!
