Hi. New member here. Just seeing if anyone has any info on a Custom Imperial model #RCIE-75L. I'm going to need some parts. Just wondering if someone can point me in the right direction. Thanks!

Ok thanks. I'll give it some more time. I'm not in a big hurry. It's still very usable. Only one burner is out as is one of the ovens. I just recently moved into a house and it was left by the previous owner. I've been here about a month and I think it is the best electric range I've ever used. Thanks for the help Kenmore71!

Stash

Combo52 is wonderful about sharing his stash. There is a California appliance scrapper that posts Frigidaire range parts on eBay. I have a good inventory of parts for my range and if every other option fails you, I'll help you out. There's a good chance the burner is just a loose connection at the burner.

It's a 1967 model. It could have been made in 1966 but "L" designates 1967 Frigidaire models ("K" is for 1966, "J" is for 1965, "N" is for 1968, "P" is for 1969, "R" for 1970...). Many models were produced for a few years and skipped some model year letters but not 40" "L" series free-standing ranges which were produced around mid-1966/mid-1967 (just like cars).  I don't have many parts for these but if you find what you need to replace, I could provide you the part numbers to search for. Replacement burners are still easy to get but they are usually not the first thing to go wrong.

Can you describe more precisely what's wrong with your range. Which burner doesn't work, does the faulty burner's switch turns-on and off the pilot light? And how about the oven? Does it stay cool when you turn it on or it just doesn't shuts off at the correct temperature? Does the broil element work? Is it the self-cleaning side that's not working or the small oven? Do the pilot lights for the broil and bake elements turn on? Is the clock/timer (Meal Minder on this model) still working? How is it set?

Then, if you're used to work on electrical appliances, you can disconnect the power and test circuits with an ohmmeter. There should be a wiring diagram at the back of the range to help you figure which wire goes where.

Sometimes, it's also possible to replace parts with different part numbers. Just a few days ago, I replaced the oven thermostat for my 1968 model (1969 production) RBE-539N Compact 30 Electri-Clean range and I used parts from a 1973 Electri-Clean wall oven thermostat combined with mine and it works. The Speed Heat burner switch was also bad so I combined parts from my bad switch and a 1960 cooktop Speed Heat switch and it also works fine.

With it being an electric range I'm not sure what you mean by pilot light. Anyways, it the left front burner. As for the oven, it is the right oven (not sure if that's the self-cleaning side). It doesn't heat up when the knob is turned on. The only thing that works in that oven is the light inside. The clock also does not work. It has a couple other knobs but I don't know what they do so I haven't tried them. The light on the back of the stove top works and I haven't checked the convenience Pluto see if that works. I'll try to remember to get more info to you after I get off work this afternoon. Thanks for all the info PhilR!

A pilot light is the warning light that turns on to show that a burner is turned on or that the oven or broil is turn on. Usually, Custom Imperial models will have two for each oven, one showing "Bake" (lower element) and "Broil". Your range should have one pilot light for the 4 surface cooking units, it should turn on if any switch is turned on and should remain off when all 4 burners are off.

The right oven is the self-cleaning one. But as it's also controlled by the clock/timer, the issue could just be that it's set to an automatic mode which won't allow the oven to turn on (or the "Bake" and "Broil" lights). Setting it to "manual" may change something...  On some models, there's also a selector to select which oven will be automatically controlled by the timer. I'm not sure if yours does but I know that slightly newer ones do. Anyway, just make sure it's set to manual and when you turn the thermostat on, have a look at the "bake" and "broil" lights to see if they turn on or not...

Ok so the light comes on when the oven is turned on but no heat. And the light does not come on for the burner.

The broil element works?

The "surface" light comes on when the other burners are turned on?  It it doesn't, the bulb could be burned.

I'd suggest you to unplug your range first and test the continuity of the circuits with an ohmmeter, there should be a diagram at the rear telling which wire goes where... If you're not familiar/comfortable with that, you could leave it to a technician but don't expect the range to work after the first visit as he might not have the replacement parts on hand for it! You might still have to do some work by yourself to locate the correct replacement parts if the issue is more than bad wires!

The surface light comes on for the other three burners. And no the broiler does not work but the light does come on. It just dims when you change from the regular oven to the broiler.
