Hi !

My husband and I just purchased a house, and the kitchen was completely remodeled this past year. However, they purchased Frigidaire appliances, and I'm not really fond of Frigidaire (unless it's the old General Motors versions).

Does anyone know anything about this particular dishwasher? It's Model # FFBD2406NS. Looks very basic, but my concern is cleanability, and how quiet and reliable it's going to be. I'm already thinking that we will be replacing it in the next few months (and we havent even moved into the house yet).

That is a basic machine for them. I have the same machine in the apartment that I rent but it's white.
The machine does a decent job on cleaning but it's cycles can be long. I usually use Normal, heat boost, hot dry and that's about 2:15 long. I use Cascade complete paks. For the most part, I just scrape off the dishes before loading. I'm not big on pre-rinsing. I do tend to bobload the machine (although I've never been officially certified! LOL) Noise level of the machine isn't bad but it's not as quiet as some of your more expensive machines. You will hear the upper arm more than the lower. This machine switches between the two wash arms to save on water.

But concerning any noise, I generally run the machine when I go to bed and than empty it when I get up. So I never hear it.

The heavy cycle uses 9 gallons, so if it lacks cleaning power, it certanly is not due to a lack of water.

Noise wise this seems pretty basicly insulated. You could alway throw some padding on it, especially behind the kick plate and arround the cabinet. Would be cheaper then a new machine if it cleans well enough.

I had one similar to this and it worked quite well for me. Had it not been for changing to stainless steel in my kitchen, I would still have it.

I have the exact model

that was installed in a newly constructed home in 2015. Whilst it is a tad noisy especially if you have a light load, it does in fact clean well. I get the best results from the Cascade paks rather than the recommended Finish tabs.

Mine was an "exclusive" model only at Lowes.

I like that fact that I don't have to piss around cleaning a filter like on the GE at the condo I rented. My only carp is I wish it would dry a bit better. Nevertheless, I often let stuff sit a week before I run it. That gives stuff a chance to really get gunked on there. And it cleans it all right off. Well, as a good as an be expected given the asinine DOE water usage regs.

Thanks everyone. I feel better about having it. I'm sure they bought this as part of an appliance package from Lowe's. There is also a somewhat decent Frigidaire side by side with ice and water in the door. And there is a BOL Frigidaire glass top range. It's not self cleaning and does not have a light in the oven (but an oven window. Go figure). We're not fans of electric cooktops so it will be the first to go with a gas replacement.

There was one like that in my house when I bought it.  Dishwasher is a misnomer, more of a dish wetter.

It lasted a month before I pulled it out.  It's still sitting in my garage, nobody wants it.
