Maytag dryer model # medb765fwo had a broken heating element. This was replaced along with high limit and operating thermostats which both tested bad. Dryer only runs a few seconds now, shuts off and displays f4, e1 message. Is this now a control board issue or? The heating element is getting power, it gets warm to touch in the few seconds it runs. Any advice appreciated

Hi Sam, it could be a board problem, but there are other things to check first he said operating thermostats were replaced. There is no operating thermostat on this dryer. There’s a thermometer which sends a signal back to the board to control operating temperature.

I would check that the thermister for proper value. If that is OK it probably needs a board. The board can be sent to core centric for rebuilding as it’s fairly expensive.
