Frigidaire Dishwashers-Whats the difference?

Ok, here are all of frigidaires washing systems, will some one explain the differances to me?

2 LEVEL TOWER WASH
the standard precision wash lower spray arm with a wash tower. that's it. no water direction shifting here, the tiny pump barely gets water through both arm and tower. weak, weak wash system.

5-Level Precision Wash System®
The switching water direction system with alternating top and bottom water spray. water first is directed to the lower spray arm for a little while. then it switches to the middle spray arm and the top spritzer cone. then it switches back, and it keeps doing this throughout the cycle. the middle arm is fed water from the spritzer cone that shoots water down into the middle arm funnel.

Precision Direct™ Wash System
5-Level Precision Direct™ Wash System
These are the same thing. it's the same thing as the Precision Wash System, just directly fed. I'm not sure wheather its a switching pump system with a check ball or not...but frigidaire's pumps are not strong enough to pump the volume of water to feed the whole spray system.

this is the same system above, but with a multi-speed pump. if i were you, if you have this, i'd run it on the highest speed all the time. because i'm sure the highest pressure from frigidaire still won't meet the pressure levels of a GE or Maytag.

Chad---I had several Frigidaire DWs from 2000-05. All were the TOL models. (I change dishwashers frequently, just for the hell of it.) I found they did a great job with 'normal' loads; dishes, cutlery, glassware, glass/Pyrex casseroles. Crusty pots and pan, not so great. I always gave them a prelimiary scrubbing before washing. I really liked having the 1/2-load option which would wash either the top or bottom rack alone, using about 3-1/2 gallons of water. The Aqua-Surge gimmick was fun to play with, too. I generally always used the highest spray force setting, but sometimes, when I wanted it very quiet in the kitchen, I'd set it at the lowest setting, which cut the noise of the machine in half. Normal or lightly-soiled dishes would still come clean. It only runs at half-power for part of the cycle, anyway.

Now that I have a Maytag, which has a more powerful water spray, I wouldn't go back to Frigidaire. Loading is more flexible, pots and pans don't need a pre-scrubbing. It isn't as quiet as a Bosch---neither are the Frigidaires---but it isn't noisy, either.

Chad-- I had three different TOL Frigidaire DWers between 1999-2006. All performed very well with normal loads---dishes, cutlery, glasses, cups, glass/Pyrex casseroles. Crusty pots and pans? Not so great. I always gave those items a pre-scrub before putting them in the machine.

I really liked the Half-Load option, which let you wash items in just the top or bottom rack for 3.5 gallons of water. Used that quite often.

The Aqua-Surge feature was also fun to play with. Most of the time I used the strongest water pressure setting, but if I had people in the kitchen and wanted it very quiet, I'd choose the lowest setting. It cut the sound level of the machine in half, and normally soiled items were cleaned well.

Now that I have the more powerful, bigger capacity Maytag, I wouldn't choose a Frigidaire again. This baby needs no help getting the cruddiest pans clean and the capacity/flexibility of loading is fantastic.

Advise anyone who's thinking about a Frigidaire to get only the TOL model. Most of the rest (with the other, wimpier wash systems) suck. Actually, advise them to get a Kenmore, WP, GE or Maytag.

Frigi is absolutely correct about that! I wouldn't part with my GE TT for anything.....great, great dishwasher with a very powerful motor.

The TOL look decent enough.. For my own house it's either A TT GE or Kenmore by Whirlpool or maybe a Bosch... Not a fan of maytags dishwasers and now they'll probably just become another whirlpool unit

It's actually nice looking for what it is...
If you look through sears, there's is still maufactured by frigidaire and they seem to have quite a few BOL frigidaire made units with precision direct water delievery system... Could it be the end of the Ultra Wash????

Chad, those frigidaire produced units replaced the GE sourced low-end Kenmores. They still offer ONE Whirlpool sourced PowerClean model (UltraWash) for like $329 regular price.

Ahh.. I found it.. What a shame.. Stupid sears... I would have much rather bought a BOL Kenmore made GE than a Frigidaire Made Kenmore

I agree, rinso. Wouldn't it be great if Frigidaire started utilizing cutting-edge technology and offered a really innovative line of appliances? The Electrolux line is certainly more upscale than the Frigidaire line, which is a shame.

Even their front-loading washer line---which was their big calling card ten years ago--- is looking very middle-of-the-pack these days compared to the high-tech LGs and Kenmore Hetties.
