Those cabinets remind me of the ones that were in my Uncle Kell and Aunt Julie's kitchen. They had been built in place by the carpenter when the house was new in '65. It burned down in '88.
They also had Coppertone appliances. The range and DW were Kenmore, and the refrigerator was GE. The GE color looked better with the cabinets than the Kenmore shade.
We had stick built pine cabinets with the same pulls/handles in my parents' 1955 house. Daddy did not have them put the heavy, shiny lacquer on the walls or cabinets, but just matte finish to protect the wood.
