That is the same stove my Mama had when I was a child!  The clock made a non-stop loud humming sound so my dad disconnected it.  In 1974 lightning ran in somehow on this stove.  Since Mama now had a 1971 Lady Kenmore dryer and Coldspot fridge in avacado she ordered a 1974 TOL Frigidaire stove in avacado from Maxwell Brothers Furniture and Appliances in Greenville.  Mama said she could live with a Sears fridge but would not have any stove other than a Frigidaire!  I wish I could pick this stove up.  It looks really clean and nice!   When I updated my Mama's kitchen in 1975 I gave that Frigidaire stove away and replaced it with a TOL Whirlpool AccuBake in white.  It was a good stove but didn't hold a candle to the Frigidaire.  I wish I had that 1974 Frigidaire stove back too!

Sorry for the loss of your mom's stove, but

If lightning took out the stove, she was lucky to have it. A manager from the GA Power Co. told me of a lady who had her house heavied up so that she could get an electric stove. The stove was still new and the only 220 volt appliance in the house when lightning hit the house. She was putting a blackberry pie in the oven when there was a big bang, the element went out in a big yellow flash and she dumped the pie upside down in the hot oven in her terror. She called, scared out of her wits, complaining about the stove. The power co. told her that if she did not have the heavy line to the stove to carry the charge from the lightning, the lightning would have probably set the house on fire.

That looks like either a 1951 RO-35 or it COULD also be a 1952 RO-35-2. Frigidaire did not do a major cosmetic redesign from 1951 to 1952 like they would do later in the 1950s. This was the "Deluxe" model of the 2 30" ranges that they were producing then. The lower-end model didn't have the "Cook-Master" clock. The 30" ranges were introduced in 1950 with the RM-30 & RM-35 models. The 1951 models were largely identical to the 1950 EXCEPT that they moved the oven vent from between the left-hand burners to the right side of the back panel.

Yep!

"he power co. told her that if she did not have the heavy line to the stove to carry the charge from the lightning, the lightning would have probably set the house on fire."

That's Georgia Power's idea of customer service all right - if you're looking for sympathy, you can find it in the dictionary, after "S**t" and "Suicide."
