variable speed

A very rare thing to have. Somebody correct me if I'm wrong but wasn't Hotpoint the only other maker to ever a totally variable speed control? Ddid the Frigidaire's control work on the spin speed, too?

Jimmy-FilterFlo, Thanks for your detailed info. This concurs with what Gansky and Steve Gyrafoam have told me. Now it's just a matter of patience trying to find the parts I need. I am definitely motivated to take this on when I see the other tough projects people here have worked on.

Patrick, glad I could be of help. Email me sometme, I think I know where you could get a couple of spare mechanisms for your Frigidaire. Im almost certain that all the spin tubes for the rollermatics are of the same configuration, even though yours is the Rapidry 1000.
