Hello everyone.
Haven't been around much as I'm not as appliance oriented or obsessed as I once was, but occasionally I come across across an older machine at a reasonable price. I'm always watching the website however.
That being the case, I purchased the 1-18 washer that Captainmoody (Dwight) listed for sale last week.
I'm sure he has asked or posted the request in the past when he got the machine, but I'll try again. The machine is almost in new condition, and works fine, other than the lighted console lens. It's got age related "macular degeneration", or a cracked transparent panel on the console. It's looks new otherwise. The photo shows some of the cracks, but they actually go all the way across. The back console is perfect, just the cracking lens.
Is there anyone out there, who has a lighted console panel part available for purchase? Perhaps one from an extra or unused console. I've yet to take it apart, but if a part number would help, I'll take a look at it. I assume any Frigidaire lighted console part would fit.(?) I also need an agitator cover. I'm sure those should be easier to find.
The model is WCI. Yes just WCI, (serial #4OEG0239). It also has a fabric softener dispenser that I can do without, if anyone is interested.
If anyone has an extra lens and/or an agitator cap available for purchase, or can suggest someone as a possible source, please let me know.
Thanks,
Ken

Hi Ken

Haven't heard from you in quite a while, congratulations on getting this great machine, when I saw it offered I was tempted but certainty didn't need it LOL. I think you are probably correct that any light lens would fit from any TOL Frigidaire 1-18 washer or dryer, but there are several different scrips and designs that were written on them. I probably have a few of these from a slightly earlier model but they are not in perfect shape by any means. Call if you need more information John.

Hi John

Good to be acknowledged by "old" acquaintances. Actually, you're just a few months older than me.
Could you take another look at the transparent lens in the photo above, and see if you've at least got a close match. Just as long as it doesn't look too cracked or yellowed from age. Also, at your convenience, please see if you've got an extra agitator cap and/or "bed of nails" filter. I would be happy to buy them from you as well. I've got another more basic 1-18 model missing those.
I'll try to give you a call by the weekend and see if you were able to come up with anything. What about Bob S. in Ohio? The guy who helped store the WO-65 machine for me. Would he be a good part source for the console perhaps?
I'll talk to you in a few days. Thanks.
