Automatic Washer - The world's coolest Washing Machines, Dryers and Dishwashers

that is a nice machine!!!

good luck with it. the rollermatic service manual is on this site to download if you like. it is very informative and has helped me a lot with both my 1-18 rebuild and my rollermatic.

great find!

RE:

As long as the side of the tub looks good and the water container looks good and there are no other visual or audible problems there is no need to remove the tub. Excess lint buildup on the outside of the tub or crud in the bottom of the water container can be removed with a brush. A good overflow of the tub to partially fill the water container and then a soak before you let it spin the water out might be a good thing if it appears to need it.

sighs

I have to remove the tub theres things caught down in there and I cannont pull it out with a needle nose plyers...so any help with removing the inner tub would be great...the bellows are all off already

i know who has water bellows for sale right now

i just bought a couple off him!

i have not removed my inner tub as my machine is working fine at the moment but i have been studying the repair manual i downloaded like the bible! it is definately an easier job than tearing down a 1-18 i feel! the rollermatics seem simpler in design to me.

i just aquired 3 more rollermatics this week myself and am picking them up this tuesday. i am going to tear one down for practice as soon as i get them. when i start i am going to post the entire tear down procedure for anyone who may find it helpful. i can't wait to get started as i want to learn about it myself. i know getting the hub nut off will most prob be the hardest part, it was on my 1-18 when i tore it down.

i will keep you posted when i pick these machines up! i also know where to get a pump seal for rollermatics if you need it. i took pump off my rollermatic and gravity drain it thru my floor but then i have a hillbilly house in the country so i can do that crap!

i also just bought 2 oil bellows i found but unfortunately can't part with them as i have to save them for my rollermatics or 1-18 should i ever need them.

i bought a water seal for a rollermatic off e bay recently but there don't seem to be any more at this time. i looked under "frigidaire parts".

thats about all i have on rollermatics at the moment. i sure love that washer though, i started using mine this week since i know i have 3 more now. was afraid to use it before! it is so much fun and i love that sound it makes when it pulsates! there is no other sound as far as washers go in my book! and even though mine is not a rapidry (one of my new one's is) the clothes come out extremely dry after the final spin!

What kinds of things are down in there? I was able to push my tub to the side with one hand and reach all the way to the bottom with the other. The tech talk describes removing the tub, but I'd do whatever I had to to keep from it. I had no choice my balance ring plug leaked and the granules clumped together so it wouldn't balance or spin smoothly.

Very nice machine Brian - no money shot though? ;-) Did you leave the 15 series KA behind?

If you need to remove the wash tub make sure you have a 1-1/2" slugging wrench to remove the tub nut.

Also - the water bellows from a 1-18 washer WILL NOT fit a 1965-1969 Rollermatic. Make sure that your source knows the difference, if not - the hole in the top should be a 'D', as the 1-18 water bellows has a completely round pulsator shaft hole, let alone being taller than the earlier Uni/Multi/Rollermatic water bellows.

actually the guy i bought my bellows from

has both 1-18 and rollermatic bellows. i bought both from him so if you are interested he still has some left, as of this writing. he doesn't have the oil bellows (which is the same for both machines) i found mine from a different source.

if you can't find a water bellows from him i have a total of 9 now that i have been buying up from anywhere i can, i will be happy to sell you one.

and when i say "sell"

i am not out to make any profit or anything like that. i would always sell anything i have for the same price it cost me. i have just been buying up a lot of rollermatic and 1-18 parts as i know they are hard to come by.

i found that when

i tuned up my rollermatic i got from matt (everythingold) that there was a lot of space between the inner and outer tub. i took the top of the washer off but i also did not remove the inner wash basket as there was no need to do anything like that. matt had already gotten the bag out. but again there is a lot of space there and i could clearly see the drain hole at the bottom. there was also enough room to work in that i could have cleaned the drain holes at the top of the wash basket had they been clogged. but they were perfect! this machine runs great, used it 3 times today!

can't wait to dig into a complete tear down when i get these other rollermatics this tuesday. 2 are fine, one has issues, it will be the one to rip apart (carefully) and i hope to learn a lot. will share all i discover in pics posted here!

How do you people get all these Rollermatics? I just don't seem to have luck finding anything around these parts.

i have a vintage appliance angel that blesses me

with mine. his sole job is to fly around heaven and earth all day rearranging my future so i find these beautiful old dishwashsers and washers!

actually both my mother and my aunt and uncle who raised me knew how much i loved working on washers and dishwashers. they are all long passed away, mom died when i weas 12 and my aunt and uncle have been gone over 15 years now. i think my mom gets me the dishwashers and my aunt and uncle get me the rollermatics! my aunt had a rollermatic and my mom was a dishwasher for an elementary school. she used a hobart! so there you have it!

and yea, i actually believe that!

just say this simple prayer

now i lay me down to snooze
a 1-18 i sure could use
i pray the lord to make one mine
if not a rollermatic will do just fine!

Great looking old Rollermatic! Congratulations on finding this one! Keep us posted on the progress.
