Looking for a water valve for my Frigidaire, I posted before but forgot to include a model and serial number, so here they are. Also I'd like to get the date of manf.

Model WCD
SERIAL 50EC 5875

Thanks for the help, Mike

Date of manufacture:

Brand: Frigidaire
Type: Clothes Washer
Country: USA
Model: WCD
Serial: 50EC5875

This product could have been manufactured on multiple dates. According to the serial number this product may have been manufactured March of 1975 or 1985.If the appliance's identification tag says "White Consolidated Industries" or "WCI", a suggested date after 1980 is likely correct. If it says "General Motors" the earlier date is likely correct

Thanks for the info. It is a GM built washer. It has the wood grain look on the control panel. After I found the water leak at the water valve I decided to try it out to make sure there were no other leaks. I moved it next to my Maytag 408 which is my daily driver, filled up the Maytag and drained it into the Frigidaire, she ran like a charm, pumped the water back into the Maytag to drain ( which the Maytag didn't care for to much) LOL. So all I have to do is replace the water valve, and she'll be good to go.

MaytagMike:

If you are mechanically gifted (which I am not) maybe you can try this...

When I got the Frigidaire 1-18 washer, I thought I needed a new water valve. The HOT water used to leak into the wash basket even though the washer was turned off, when it was hooked up to the water supply.

Roger took the water valve out and cleaned out some tiny mineral deposits that were in there. And after that, no more leaking!
And the mineral pieces were so tiny, you wouldn't think that would cause the water to keep coming into the washer? But after cleaning out those tiny mineral pieces, no more HOT water leaking into the washer!

So maybe this is the same thing that is happening WITH your FRIGIDAIRE?

I hippie this information was helpful for you. Keep us posted...
:o)

Mike - If anyone here knows...

it'll be PhilR, in Canada (nr Montreal).

Where are you in Burlington? We used to live in Charlotte and still have our camp in Mallets Bay (Colchester). We just got home from there yesterday, and PhilR visited us last week! He comes there regularly, he's THE Frigidaire expert around here.
