Finally got around to putting a new pad and cover on the GM/Frigidaire ironer and it works a treat. Indeed find the results on par or even better then the Pfaff in some instances.

However as previously mentioned cannot get the roller to operate on "high". When control knob is turned to that setting the roller will not turn, other settings (low & press) are fine.

Am wondering if the problem is with a loose wire behind the switch, or the gears.

Suggestions, tips or information from a service manual would be greatly appreciated.

TIA

L.

I'm afraid I can't help with the Frigidaire, but I've just discovered a movie on DVD from 1949 that gives step-by-step Ironrite directions! And for the low, low price of $2.00. It arrived today. If you have an interest, let me know; I don't have the link handy.

Actually Problem Fixed Itself

Was using the ironer this evening, and after an hour when the unit was switched to "high", the roller went right up to speed. Guess the thing just needed to thaw out and really warm up after not being used for awhile.

Have seen the video in question, it is from a website where one can either download or watch for free.

Enjoy!
