Frigidaire washer

I have a Frigidaire washer that I would like to take the agitator off of to wee what it looks like underneath. the Model # is FWS445RFS0, and theres a lid in the agitator that I have to take off but Thats the Problem. I cant get the cap off for the life of me. I about lost my Christianity trying to pull it off only to have the pliers come off and hit me in the forehead. Ive tried hot and cold water tried to pry it up and it wont budge.. any ideas?
