I am offering my Frigidaire WO-65-2 for sale.
Mechanically, it has a new motor start switch; the oil and water bellows have been replaced. It also has a “new” rebuilt timer. As you can see in the photo below, cosmetically it really looks like new. The tub is very clean as well. It is a working machine.
It’s been about ten years, but if I recall correctly, I paid around $300 for it in rough condition. So I would hope it’s worth significantly more now, with the time, parts and labor I’ve put into it. Or at least that’s my assumption.
On the negative side, I’ve starting to hear a low rubbing or rumbling noise when turning the tub counter-clockwise. There is also a light coating of oil slowly covering the outside of the mechanism. I don’t believe it is coming from the overflow tube of the transmission, due to a leaking oil or water bellows, as those are new. It may simply be a matter of tightening the upper and lower parts of the transmission. It may be more. Frankly, I don’t know.
That being said, I can’t and don’t care to work on this machine forever, and I’m getting tired of maintaining it. Therefore it’s up for sale. It’s time for someone else to have “fun” with it. This machine is the perfect way to start, add to, or to complete an appliance collection. When I find I’m missing the sights and sounds of the old WO-65-2, I can always click on a You-Tube video of a similar machine to get my GM Frigidaire fix!
So, I’ll start with an opening “bid” of $300, give it a week or so and see what happens. I won’t even speculate as to what offers I’ll get, as frankly I have no idea and don't know what to expect! Rather than post them here, I would be happy to send other close-up photos of the machine to anyone interested.
Should it sell, I would rather have someone in relatively close proximity purchase and personally pick it up, to avoid even a risk of shipping damage. But I’m open to all possibilities, and I’ll see what happens. And what the offers, if any, look like.
Please write with any questions or comments to [email protected].

Thanks,
Ken

Hi Ken

That sure is a handsome Unimatic! I remember when you got that beauty and all the work you did on it. Best wishes finding it a good home.

I've got it!

The only two offers I received were the minimum $300.
It looks like I'll hang on to it for now. I thought it would be more desirable than that.
If anyone is still interested, I'll consider other offers, but I certainly don't have to sell it.
Thanks for asking.
