I was given a relatively new Kenmore washer made by Frigidaire.The unit will fill,tumble,drain but,no spin.I gave the owner $100 for the unit. Then,I called Sears to get the mother board's price and availability and found out,the original owner never registered it themselves.So,the man on the other end said he'd be happy to register it for me and set up a service call,free!They'll be here tomorrow to repair it.He then set up the date of purchase as 12/27/09.They will replace the mother board and the control panel frame that's cracked on either side of the dispenser drawer.That keeps the board from latching w/out being pressed until it clicks.

I have one of the Frigidaire Gallery square-door washers and am very pleased with it's performance.

I have liked everything about the Frigidaire front loaders except for a few features that need to be standard on all front loaders:

1)Button trap easily accessible by the owner/users.

2)Interior drum light that has a control button to turn it on and off whether the door is open or shut.

3)fuzzy logic

4)steel arms that are part of the drum assembly and wielded on,not screwed on.Like the Speed Queens

5) ability to use liquid or powder and be able to do a pre wash without having to return to restock the liquid detergent because it has no way of staying there to be dispensed after the pre wash Whirlpool (Maytag,Kenmore,Amana) does it as well as Samsung.It holds the liquid until the main wash begins.Then flushes it down to mix with the water.

Other than these,I like the Frigemore

Too little water used.....these machines are terrible at washing and rinsing a regular load

In my experience the Frigidaire FL does a much better job of washing and rinsing than a previous agitator Whirlpool that used 45 gallons of water. Also, no comparison as far as extract ability goes.

Frigidaire!

My mother has the Frigidaire square door gallery for almost 5 years now. Her first front loader and she loves it. I like it also. But I have heard the newer ones have cut down on water use and that is a bad thing.

When it was dropped off,I hooked it up and removed the top.On the front right hand corner,ther is a water level switch that can be adjusted.I adjusted it by tightening the phillips head screw clockwise about two revolutions.Now,the water level is just under the door boot and I put a queen size bedspread in that fit easily.I had to put it in a top loading bd Kenmore to spin it out but,it is getting repaired today after 1PM.I have already saved a few loads of wash to have a dirty laundry party this Saturday(tomorrow) but, because of the high wave swells at the coasts here,I'll probably put it off and go surfing first.they're calling for 20 to 30 ft swells!!! But,if there's a lot of vog,I may not go.We'll see.For those of you who don't know what vog is,It's the steam that billows out of the vent holes in the volcanoes here and it can be a health risk because of the different severities it can have.Most of them effecting people that have resperatory alements like asthema.The winds carry the vog out to sea but,that depends on which way they're blowing.This past tuesday,it was so thick that I had to wear a bandana like a mask to keep from inhaling the vog.After I got off work,I removed it and the front had filterd soot all over it.my cat's pink nostrils were filled with it too.By the way ,both of my kittens are doing great and have been nuterd and got all their shots last week.
