Automatic Washer - The world's coolest Washing Machines, Dryers and Dishwashers

Help Support :

Evan,

John is a great guy and a good friend!!! How long have you known him? Have you met him?

What are some of your favorite vacuum cleaners (from your collection)

Rich

Rich,

I first met John in June 2002 at the Vacuum Cleaner Collectors Club convention. He is a great guy, and very interesting to talk to.

I have mostly Hoovers and Electroluxes in my collection. Some of my favorites are my GE Roll-Easy, Bison upright, and my Air-Way 88.

I would say more, but I am too tired!

I'm up for a Yankee wash-in. But we must have some vacuum cleaners also. Can't have lint blowing around from the dryers!

Great Idea!

I would love to have a wash in, where we could have fun, and meet each other. I just can't tell you how thrilled I am that there are so many members in the Boston area. I hope we will be able to work something out.

However, I agree 100% with Bobby that me MUST have some vacuum cleaners around as well as washers. I would be more than willing to help in that regard!

I would love to have a wash in

I would be happy to host a get together. I don't know about a wash-in.....maybe a wash-fix! I have a near mint condition Lady Kenmore wringer washer from the late 50's/early 60's that will not work and I need help from some experts!!! HELP!!

I would be happy to cook dinner (or lunch) and though I don't have a hundred vacuums I do have a few nice ones!

Let me know if anybody is interested and if so perhaps I will start a new thread with a title to reflect the event!

What do ya think?

Rich

Okay I get the message

Wash-IN at Jetcones --bring the Vacs.

GregM has been pestering me and so I got his butt out here yesterday so that we could move 6 machines out of the basement, now people can actuall stand & move down there.

Let me get the place gussied up and we'll have a wash-in in Feb with all 16 machines running.
Polish your Vacs, actually we will have to put rugs down in the basement as Al will attack any running Vac.

Toggles is coming???????!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

This will be a BLAST!! Can I bring my A608 for all of us to fix?? Just kidding, but I can bring a vacuum or two! Let's hear it for Mass, RI, and NY!!

Okay I get the message Wash-IN at Jetcones

Hi Jetcone,

I hope that you don't think that my offer of hosting a gathering was a hint/message for you to host a gathering. I was genuinely offering my hospitality to have people come to my home. Due to some family circumstances it is a bit hard for me to get away from my home, right now, so I thought that this would be a nice way for all of us to get together so that I could be sure to join in the fun as well. Again, I hope that you don't feel like I was pressuring you!

Please let me know your thoughts on this :-)

Rich

I Hope This Thread Hasn't Been Forgotten

I would still like to have a wash-in (as would everyone else, i'm sure) if at all possible. In regards to Rich, since he says he can't leave his home, may I propose that we divide the time into two parts: Have the first half of the meet at his place, and then have the second half of the meet at Jetcone's. By doing this, nobody needs to feel left out, but we will also be able to see Jetcone's fabulous collection.

Let me know what your thoughts are on this.

I Hope This Thread Hasn't Been Forgotten

Hi Evan,

No, it hasn't been forgotten. I am excited by the fact that two of us are willing to host a gathering. I think that we can do two separate ones to cut travel time for people. I look forward to seeing Jetcone's collection and will do everything in my power to attend BUT, right now, in my life....nothing is definite :-)

I was thinking about possibly having something in early March. Does this sound good to everyone? Jon (Jetcone), does this interfere with your plans?

BTW...I do have a little more than just a non-working (will work some day) Lady Kenmore and a couple of vac's :-)( Here is a teaser, Evan. I have a vac that I have to wipe John's drool off of when he visits!!!) It will be fun!

I look forward to meeting all of you!!!

Rich

wash in

I too would love to come to a wash in....since I am here in Lynn the City of Sin..lol. When I mentioned a wash in to Scott did I get the ol eye roll and a big ol "you have to be kidding"!!
Mike

Hi,

Thanks for the offer of help. I have to pick out a date and I will post a separate message titled appropriately.

I don't know if I would be able to truly title it a wash in as I only have two collectable washers. I will leave the "wash-in" for Jetcone (or anybody else for that matter), who I have been in contact with. What this would be more of is a meeting of collectors of all sorts of vintage appliances. I happen to mainly collect vintage toasters, coffee pots/makers (vacuum pots included), vacuum cleaners and several other early electrical gadgets. OH and don't forget the 800 antique/vintage typewriters! If you want to check some of them out please feel free to visit my partner and my website at http://typewriter.rydia.net/.

This will be a lot of fun and, of course, I expect that you will all bring some of your treasures for "show & tell" :-) I guess I could have some dirty rugs for a vac-in!!! LOL

I'll keep you all posted!

Happy collecting,
Rich

Rich and other potential hosts:

Should I be invited, I will be glad to attend, even if major travel is involved.

Have no fear. I am a gentleman in public.
(Well, at least when I am not on my own turf! LOL)

Rich, I personally look forward to giving you a needed respite from your care-giving.
