Front load washers that spray the load during the wash

Hi guys,

I have a zanussi IZ front load washer that must be over 10 years old now. It is a dream machine and has never broken down and has withstood shipping from UK to Australia when we relocated 5 years ago. It is still going strong and washes really well. One of the best things about it is that during wash and rinse it circulates the water and constantly sprays the load. I really fancy a new larger front loader but want one that has this feature. does anyone know if whirlpool, Samsung, LG, Bosh or any other manufacturer who are selling the larger FL washers in Australia has this system that Zanussi call "jet system"?

The Electrolux washers available at the moment all spray the load during the wash with the jet at 12 o clock in the drum.

My partner and I just purchased an Electrolux Time Manager 8kg, 1400spin for 400 less than regular price due to it being a store floor model and they already had a big sale on at Harvey Norman.

I can honestly say its a perfect machine. Very quiet, powerful 1400 spin huge capacity. The jetsystem works really well and the range of cycles is great. Big bonus is the Time Manager addition on Cotton, Synthetic and Delicates. You use the + and - buttons on the machine to select on of 6 soil levels and this adjusts the time of the wash, can be as much as 2 and a half hours down to as little as 50 mins for a Cottons wash. I'm trying to get a photo of my phone at the moment but still figuring out my new phones bluetooth etc...

Hope this helps, they have lower ended models too with only 1000 spin that are also 8kg with time manager and jet system. Heres a link to the website...

Thank guys for your replys, much appreciated. Matthew, I really like the look of the Electolux washer range. I think Electrolux took over from zanussi though I think Zanussi still sell in the UK and Europe.

Heres my machine.

Please excuse multitude of detergents surrounding it, none of which Australian, apart from the Omo capsules you can see fallen over lol. I have a weakness for British and German Persil and American green Downy lol. Amazon didn't do much good for my credit card, neither did the UK shop 15 minutes from my house haha.

Its a great machine, looks good and doesn't move or vibrate much at all during the cycle, the dryer on top just wobbles slightly on the ramp up and down from spin.

I still think Electrolux needs to reintroduce their front loading washers and matching dryers in the old style open down/slanted door fronts like the old Laundromat models!Those also had the tilted interior drums.I believe that Westinghouse pioneered that design.Hoover also had it back when they had their key machines out.The new Frigidaire Affinities have some interesting improvements and now have the apex window where there's a center point like the old Laundromats a bit AND a newfangled device on the front frame that holds the door open so it can air out to eliminate mildew from forming.

I think the older Zanussi's were best for jetsystem, the newer ones don't all have them.
I am sure electrolux exist in Australia, so have a check around for them-I presume some of them will have jetsystems.

My LG F1480RD White 9/6Kg Washer Dryer sprays from the 12 o clock position during the wash and rinse, the only time the load doesn’t get sprayed with water is while the water is being heated to the desired temperature.

Gorenje also has models with Jet-system, 7 and 8kg capacity normal, and the touchscreen 6kg 2000rpm model has it too! It looks pretty much the same as Electrolux Jet-system

I am really not sure, about UK, but I can tell you that EVO1682D-80 is lower quality than EVO 1483 DW. The whole thing about Candy and better and worse quality, is that Candy Group is trying to be brand both for budget and advanced customers. Ok, I know in Uk and Germany it is just budget, but here it is managing to do that. So it is all about money, there are cheap and expencive Candy/Hoovers.. I will make a thread dedicated to it, but quickly now, I will just say what parts are higher quality on expencive machines - Pulley and belt system, more importantly PCB and control panel, and majority of them have inverter motors.. so at least you have a clue now

My AEG 72640 Jet

My 9 year old AEG OKO Lavamt 72640 has a jet which AEG calls Advanced Rinse Technology. This is bascially just a Jet System in a Zanussi. Its 9 years old now. I like it as it has the 'Spin Rinse' with the jet on. Its great. I was looking at Zanussi Jet System as the next one but now might consider an LG once my AEG has broken. I plan to use it until its on its last legs.

please advise on my 2 aeg machines ability to ignore unbalanced conditions and then just spin at full speed banging the drum to hell if not stopped!i am dealing with that problem right now and lucky i am around the laundry area to correct the load but i feel these older lavamats were designed to correct themselves?
what could the problem be?I own lavamat models 72640 OKO and 88830 oko models and both are getting old?please your input is needed........is it drum shocks/suspension is it pcb trouble on both these units?

The pump is fine now. That awful noise it was making last year seemed to have self cured itself. I had the issue with the machine not draining, this was down to a Colour Catcher getting stuck inside the tub and blocking off the piping to the pumps. It took a while but it made itself down to the filter at the bottom eventually. The machine appears to be ok for the timebeing but I don't feel safe leaving it on unattended due to a problem it has now with the machine going into a random spin burst during a wash or rinse cycle causing an almighty bang and the machine to jump and the occasional pausing, its got to be the programmer but I plan to use this machine until its on its last legs as its a great machine when it behaves and the spin rinse feature is not something I think I'll find on another machine :-(

I'm sorry to hear of your problems with the machines. The machines ability to ignore unbalanced loads is not a fault as such as my AEG 72640 does this too and the glass door has been knocked a few times at the bottom, marking it very badly. My machine spins unbalanced quite a lot and in the 9 years I have had it, never had a problem with the suspension giving up or the bearings as its a very well built, solid machine (even though the suspension legs look cheap). Its normal and as long as the machine is working fine I think its something we have to live with. I've not heard of these machines self destructing like some other makes which I don't need to mention the names of, in fear of upsetting the brands fans...
