I've tried Googling the origins of the name/company. I understand it's part of Whirlpool but other than that there's no history of the acronym. I saw a reference to Factory Select Parts. In the same way that Delco and Frigidaire were part of GM, I just wanted to know the who, what, and where of the company.

Factory Specified Parts

Not "Select".

Many manufacturers of consumer goods from automobiles to appliances have (or had)a parts division. Whirlpool calls theirs "FSP" from the fact it produces/stocks factory specified parts designed to meet the same specifications as the original and match performance. This as opposed to generic off the shelf parts made by others. [this post was last edited: 11/1/2016-17:31]
