Hello Dears, I'm gonna go take my Nerve medicine now...
Tonight we're gonna have a big local wash-in, I've got the camera charging, pictures to come.
How fun, Miles Nervene. Patent medicines enabled those who would not touch a drop of alcohol to enjoy alcohol's effects. That's a beautiful Pyrex double boiler. Does the Final Touch still have that distinctive fragrance? Have lots of fun and thanks for sharing.

BTW, I wouldn't even open those bottles of vintage Lysol. Older formulations of Lysol contained phenol, also known as carbolic acid or phenolic acid. Phenol is toxic (was used by the Nazis to euthanize people by injection) and is deadly to cats (they can get poisoned just by walking on a surface washed with a carbolic acid containing disinfectant).
I gather that modern Lysol products do not contain phenol. Apparently the disinfecting spray is mostly ethanol, with a touch of ammonium based disinfectant (as in quaternary ammonium compound). Rubbing alcohol probably would do just as well.

Yes, I'm sure about it. I've read it in several places, and not just on the internet, but in cat health books, years ago.
As an aside, for a while I studied toxicology, and learned that anything with a benzene ring (an "aromatic" compound" should be treated with caution. Phenol has a benzene ring.

Where'd you get that cool combination banana hanger/fruit basket? It makes a lot of sense... put some apples in the basket and they probably help the bananas ripen... Plus takes up less space than separate hanger and basket.

Congrats robert, you always find the most awesome stuff at your estate sales... the most exciting thing I've found recently was a repair manual for a 73 Pinto... lol.
