Wooohooo

Looks like y'all had a great time! Great to see an American appliance store, entirely a different kettle of fish to ours! Ours for a start are all 24" frontloaders.

That AGA range is the same as the Rangemaster ranges sold over here (Aga owns the Rangemaster brand), have linked to it below.

Have just come back from spending a week with Dan (washboy2005) up in Hartlepool after he was here for a week, so there's been some fun meet-ups going on here :-). Though no photos I'm afraid :-(.

One last thing - Jamie, how tall are you? You seem to tower above everyone else, as well as those LG's :-).

Jon

Oh, you guys look like you are having a great time! I notice you did not mention the price of that AGA stove! They do come in some great different colors.

That Oasis w/agitator is pretty cool looking. I like the purple little fins. Why the holes in the skirt?

That is so funny that ya'll started to plug those things in and toy with them. I used to do that and it would freak out the salespeople. I used to lecture them on why those "demo's" were there in the first place! And then tell them to go away!

Chris,

Breville has been sold here in the UK too for years. My grandma's neighbour has a Breville toaster which is about 10 or 15 years old now.

Jon

Breville began appearing on Canadian store shelves 3 or 4 years ago. I'd never heard of them before and figured they were just another no name brand. What set them apart though was that they were pretty much all metal chrome and not plastic. Appear to be well built and robust. I bought the Breville Panini press shortly after and it's excellent. The brand is selling at pretty much all the stores now.

I don't think their are any Sears Great Indoors stores yet in Canada unless they're back east in Toronto and Montreal. Are they akin to Sears Home or Brand Central stores. We have Sears Home stores which sells only furniture and appliances and a bigger selection with more upscale stuff but I don't think they carry Aga Viking and Thermador.
BTW, how much does the Sears induction cooktop sell for in the US? It's about $1799 here in Canada.

Good times in Texas

WOW, Cowboy take me away(dixie chicks). I would have loved to do that. What a fun time! That could substitute a wash-in just fine. At least you were in the A/C having all that fun.

Steve

Breville Bounty!

Hey All!

We sure had a great time!! The Great Indoors is like visiting a Godiva Chocolate Store! The stuff is superb and pricey!! I was so drooling over the Electrolux Icon and F&P ranges and wall-ovens!! :-0....

I had never heard of Breville before. They had quite a large display of their small appliances all nicely grouped together. There was also quite a bit of the Kitchenaid Professional Series as well. I couldn't get over the $149.00 Kitchenaid Crockpot with lots of bells and whistles. What really had me chuckling was the Cuisinart percolator with a $69.00 pricetag! C'mon now...for that we can do a Sunbeam Coffeemaster, can't we!! ;-) Those poor sales clerks must have asked us if we needed help about a million times....reminded me of our field trip to Nebraska Furniture Mart!! LOL

Jamie and Cheryl were great sports, especially when we lost them in Houston! YIKES! We did manage to catch up with each other (thanks to Austin), and ate some great Mexican food! Cheryl and I had to gulp some Coronas to calm our nerves! ;-)

Since they have family in Texas, we hope to see them again real soon! I promise I won't lose you next time!! LOL

It was fun!!

Venus :-D

I would say that you all had a great day together. That must have been someplace to see. Thanks for sharing all the great pictures Austin. Terry

Wow!

It really looks like you had a great time. Of course if i was there i would have been in the vacuum section the entire time! LOL! Great pictures Austin!

Kenmore 800 returns!!!!!!

OMG. I probably would've gotten the new 800 even though it is a shredmore. It doesn't have the automatic presoak/prewash switch so it's not a TRUE 800. I'll go for the original thank you.

And DAD GUM Jamie got tall!

WHEW!!! Well, I'm finally back from Texas and I've finally got my internet access back! lol! I had SUCH a great time!! It was greating meeting Austin and Venus and seeing Glenn again since the 2002 convention!

Austin, are there Taxis in Houston? I think we'll need one the next time we come! Oh, don't forget what happened after we finally found our way to the restaurant, never again will I eat tortilla chips with SOOO much salsa piled on top!

Jon, I just passed 6 feet, I'm the tallest person in my family except my uncle who married in, (6ft 4in,) and I'm still growing!

Last note, aren't those Mieles just to DIE for?? While I was waitin for Austin and friends to show up I was drooling over them! I was just bummed that I couldn't get the damn door open! Of all the machines to leave unplugged...

Oasis

I noticed on the agitator Oasis that it seemed to have some sort of "filter system" where the fins are suppose to be. Is it truly a filter or not? They look like pretty sharp machines.
