G.E. Solid Tub Transmission

Did G.E. always have the same transmission in it's washers throughout it's entire Filter-Flo generation? I know the original Filter-Flo had a solid tub, then changed to a perforated tub I believe in the early 60s. I saw a solid tub Filter-Flo on YouTube, and the agitation was slightly slower than the perforated tub models, but that could've been due to age. The solid tub model also had no tub brake. Some washers underwent a complete mechanical makeover when they switched from solid to perforated tub, and I wonder whether or not that was the case with G.E.

No they did not have the same transmission the entirety of the FF's. I'm not exactly sure but the original FF's (or some) had transmissions with the indexing tubs. Then they added a tub brake. In the early 60's they changed to the faster stroke tranny which was in use for a long time.

Yes, the solid-tub machines had many different parts from the perf-tub machines. The tranny was very different. And the early straight-vane Activator had a slower stroke.
