When I moved from Scotland to Hungary in 2011 I had to leave my old Tricity Tiara electric cooker at the cottage, as the letting agents said a cooker was required equipment for unfurnished lets. It would have been no good in the Hungary house in any case, as the electric supply is too low amperage to feed an electric cooker.
When I did the last of three moving trips I knew I would need to cook meals from day one, as there was a Workaway volunteer coming to help me unload the van etc. I therefore stripped out the old Flavel caravan stove from my 1976 Toyota Hiace camper and took that with me. It also came in handy for doing food and drinks during the 1600 mile drive to Hungary.

The 2 burner caravan stove was only ever meant to be a temporary measure as I planned to buy a new, standard size stove in Hungary. The problem has been that I want one with a grill and they don't seem to sell them with grills here. Hungarians do a lot of frying whereas I tend to grill everything. I am now preparing the Hungary house for renting out as I am on the move again, this time to Croatia. I already have the house in Croatia and it has a gas cooker but again with no grill. I would now like to put the Croatia cooker in the Hungary house for the tenant and buy a new cooker with grill for the Croatia place. I now get to the point of my post, is grilling a cooking method only employed in UK or are there other, nearer countries where I could buy a suitable cooker, like Italy, Austria, Germany or somewhere?

Thanks for the reply. Interesting, I had been rejecting any that only had one door but it looks like I need to check the number of knobs and then look closer if there are 6 knobs or more. I also need one that will run on LPG gas so that further limits my choice but I think some come with the set of LPG jets included.

I was looking at them today and I think my best bet would be to go for one of the dual fuel ones with electric oven and gas hob. These have a normal flex and plug so can run from a standard socket. The Indesit cookers in UK come with the LPG jet kit included but it looks like you have to pay extra for that in Hungary. Perhaps I could find someone in UK who has bought a new cooker but is running on town gas so does not need the extra jets!
