Me...Me...me...(with hand raised)

As a little kid trying for fill up moms car at the station. I grew up on a farm and we had our own huge 500-600 gallon barrels to fil up farm machinery. So when mom and I got into to town realizing that she was driving on a low tank we would stop. I would get out of the car to fill the car up with regular or ethel.

I also remember having a gas station attendent come out and wash your windows, check your oil, or tires, as he filled your car with gas.

$1.899 today.

My dad operated a Gulf service station for 25 years. I remember gas being $0.25, $0.32, etc. I remember him coming home in the evening, dismayed that gas prices went up another cent, wondering what's the world coming to .....

I have receipts from 1964....

My family went from Houston to Grand Canyon, Yosemite, down to Juarez....5000 miles and just right at $100 in gas for the entire trip. I remember 76 stations being big out in Cali, we did not have those here in Tejas. All this without AC, 3 kids in some baby blue small 4 dr. Ford...oh yeah, pulling a pop up tent/camper.

19 cents a gallon back then. I think cigs were 35 cents a pack, but I was too young to smoke then, lol.

Gas here at Sam's last wk. was 1.90, then overnight it jumped up .08.
I have 2 autos, so I switch back and forth.

Right now I am in a rental while my Jeep is in the shop. I am driving an '06 Mustang Convertible...but I will only have it for the week, so I won't put more than $15 at a time in it...LOL Drinks alot of gas too. *ahem* heavy foot...

Check out the msn.com gas prices web site for the lowest in your area (by typing in zip code).

I LOVE my Jeep Liberty!

Wanna race? I've been called the female version of a certain famous driver ;-)

I'm pretty damn good.

My cousin ryan had a 99 Jeep Grand Cherokee.. He had it for 3 years and omg, what a POS.. It broke almost monthly.. D/C finally replaced it with a new TOL, fully loaded Liberty after a long court battle (he wanted a regular cherokee but by then they where gone).. He ahd it for 3 years and it was better, but what killed it was the very tippy suspension (they are very easyt to flip in comparison to my exploder) and all kinds of suspension issues. He had it on two wheels on 3 or 4 occasions (he drives like Mr. Magoo mind you) Now he has a Hyundai Sanat Fe and he loves it. Plus he drives much better

Since we are diss'in cars...

I had a 1985 Jeep Cherokee...Standard, (with the Renault engine) never had a lick of trouble from her. She took me thru 31 states in the 6 yrs I had her.
I was "road raged" by a Chinese punk back in '99...and he banged it up pretty good on the passenger side, he went to jail, I got $$$, kept driving her until a rod went out. 2K miles short of having 300,000 on her. That Jeep was an exception to the rule, I suppose.
I also have a Mazda B-2300 Standard, and I am almost at 180,000 miles on "it". I decided to keep it as I had been wanting 2 autos for years. The only major item I had to deal with was a new timing belt, just a few months ago. I hated being without a car at a time, when a rental couldn't even be found in this city, because of the recent flooding....so I went out and bought the Liberty.
I'll race ya in the 'stang...and watch you rollover as we take the first curve. Then I'll come back and dance some DRIFTS around ya.....LOL
Ya got Firestones on that exploder? LOL

Mustang Sally

"I had a 1985 Jeep Cherokee...Standard, (with the Renault engine) never had a lick of trouble from her...."

This was my friend's EXACT same deal, except hers lasted even longer....it just wouldn't die, but when it DID.....

Everything went at once! Engine, transmission, electrical, suspension....in one week! It was like it had been possessed...

She replaced it with a Forester, and she likes it, but it's just not the same....
