Prices now . . .

I count myself lucky to have found diesel again at $2.97/gallon yesterday . . . most stations are more like $3.09 or more. Gas was 3.41/3.51/3.61, so once again we're creeping up on that magic $4.00/gallon mark. I predict that is when the big SUV crowd will really start to squeel about prices; so far there is the usual bitching but it doesn't seem to have much overall effect.

I also predict that when the gas goes up due to "summer driving demand" diesel prices will follow, even though we get told in winter that diesel is high due to "winter heating demand". Always an excuse!

Well, I do not know what to say for the gas prices really...

Just a month ago it was 2.79 for regular unleaded at the 76 up the street from here,an adtional ten cents if you use a Visa/Mastercard/Amex. Now it is 3.39 for the same gas. the most expensive gas over off of NW 23 and W Burnside, afectionately knows as "Trendy Third" gas is 3.55.I don't know about everyone's paycheck, I know that I have not gotten that big of a raise in a long time. As far as a reason for raising gas, I think that a more honest answer could go like as follows:-----I was in the mood this morning to raise gas prices,I made a phone call...... then I did. I may be in the mood tomorrow, there is a very good chance of it, ---Just a thought, the other things I hear really make my head just hurt from, well, the truth streching.
PS---I was driving a friend to someplace, and well, we drove by, it was one price, we drove by again an hour later, it was up five cents, and two hours later, another five cents. Hmmm, i guess someone make two phone calls:)

$2.69 in Covington at the Super Walmart, $2.66 if you pay with one of thier gift cards. Each payday I put two weeks worth of gas $250 total (ouch) on a card for each car. My wife and I drive about 100 a day each.

I am thinking about approaching my company to let me telecommute for one or two days a week for gas relief.

Irishwashguy, is self-service gas still illegal in Oregon? The Times travel section just ran a piece on Portland and used the term "Trendy Third" as well. I was there once for our vacuum convention, and would enjoy visiting again sometime to do more sightseeing, esp. after reading this article.

Years ago Amoco charged a premium per gallon if you were charging, but I haven't seen that in a long time. Maybe because when you do self service now you can pay at the pump, so no employee intervention is necessary. I couldn't even tell you the last time I've been inside at a gas station (LOL).

Can you belive it......Indeed....They pump it for us

It may be silly, but it is not legal to pump your own gas in Oregon, as of always, as long as I can remember.Gas Dropped two cets over night. As far as " Trendy Third", neat place to hang out. Most expensive gas in the metro area at 3.55.I love the restaurants down there, Papa haydens, yum, yum. and Pix, oh wow. I bought my washer and dryer not far from there, the Appliance Gallery at Basco. Only in that area of the city.
I could also see why a " Vac In" would be big here,Starks Vacuums, which is very close to my home, has the museaum over on Grand Ave.My first Vacuum ever is in there, a Hoover model 28.I did not know at the time when I had it that there were people that knew how to fix them, and we still do not have self service gas stations,Its Oregon, the place were April showers bring May showers!!

Oh I don't know, probably a lot of people like the fact that they can have someone else pump their gas and not have to pay .50 or more extra for the privilege! LOL I haven't seen any full serve availability in LA, but there were places in Minneapolis you could get it at a premium. Maybe there's some in Beverly Hills or someplace like that.

Starks is a wonderful place. They were so very nice to us. We had/have a fair number of members that live in Portland and Seattle as well.

On my last day there we went to this giant park somewhere, it was beautiful, roses and flowers and gardens all over. In fact they were even having some kind of festival there that day. Do you know what I'm talking about? I would not mind going to that again.

on the other side of the pond...

We're paying about 95p per litre ($1.88) over here, or $7.11 for a US gallon - so the outback is costing about £55 to fill - thats about $109.03 USD for a tank...

It's up to 2.99 here now and I have seen some gas stations at 3.09 now! I have a feeling its only going higher from here until Labor Day.

Fort Smith Arkansas

We hit $3.01 a gallon today at Sams. They usually run about .10 a gallon cheaper than other places around here. $55 to fill up.

I dunno about you, but i shi* a brick when i saw my bank statment online yesterday and saw that sams had charged me $127.45 for a $27.45 gas purchase ($2.89 a gal).. They said it was a faliure of the pump.. Uh-hu... So that was roughly 9.5 gal @ $13.42 a gallon... Yup... Sams said they couldn't refund the money, it would be up to the bank.. My bank disputed the whole charge fortunatly and will deal with them. I cut my membership card up and threw it out. No more sams..

Drama Drama

Don't you save you receipts Chad? If you can show them a receipt for your purchase on that date, I am certain they would work with you. This is a good reason to save EVERY receipt,no matter how big or small...

I know... LoL.. No drama just seems to find me.. I have learned my lesson about keeping reciepts.. Usualy i just write down the amount in the small check registar i keep with me and keep tabs on my account.. The bank agreed that it was only $27.45 and has refunded the $100, fortunatly.. Apperntly I was not the only person who this had happend too that day either.. But by using your debit card at sams they freeze $100 of you're account for between 24-48 hours until the charge goes through. Insted of doing this they just charged me the whole thing...
