The rest of the kitchen looks cool - probably a gut job. :-(
There were no self cleaning ovens in the 40's that I know of, so it has to be much newer.

That was someone's pride and joy and the care it received is shown by the way it looks today. Even the door gasket is still looking like new. The master oven liner still has the silver tabs on the rack guides to keep them moving smoothly after cleaning. The way that porcelain looks, she might never have used the cleaning cycle or only rarely.
