Anybody have any comments on this type of refrigerator? The capacity looks small, but I love not having to stoop for refrigerated items.

How was sealing between the upper doors accomplished? I dont see a sealing strip attached to one of the doors like modern french-door refrigerators have. If it relied only on the edge of both door gaskets butting against each other I would think that would have been problematic? And whats the black thing at the top of the cabinet held on with clear tape in pic #2?

These are great refs, very convenient, very durable and fairly efficient especially if you do a few energy upgrades. I have had one of these in my weekend mountain house for almost 20 years and we used one for the last year at my partners house as our only ref and had no problems at all.

I have one of those, in that color even. It is used outside on the back patio. It is out of the sun, but it still gets warm here in Phoenix. We use it for drinks. It works great.
Each door has a seal that goes all the way around. When the doors are closed, the seal does overlap. We had to replace the seal on ours though. I"m sure this one would need replaced too. I am not sure what that black thing is on the top. It sure isn't factory.

You can open either top ref door and close it independently of the other, this is also true of all current FD Refs, however on most current models with a movable mullion one door opens and closes with a little more resistance than the other, usually the left door.
