How good are they? A friends mother asked me what’s the best dishwasher out there... I told her Bosch.
She fell in love with the GE Cafe model- loves all the knob she could choose. I told her I’m not a fan of their dishwashers but I like their cooking products...
I’m trying to convince her to buy a Bosch with a panel- hence she’s building a house.

Tom, Johnb300m had a GE profile PDT720 for only 2.5 years before the racks began deteriorating as well as the pump begin to leak.  He ended up replacing it with a KA KDTE304 and was much happier with it.  He'd been a huge supported of GE dishwashers for years.  He replaced the GE in May 2018.

Skip The GE DW

Best current overall DW in the US are the Maytag models, if you want greater quietness and state of the art features get a KA or JA, but you are likely to have more problems with the high end KAs and JAs.

I would skip the Bosch machines for many reasons, harder to work on and install, they are smaller than US DWs and look funny with the gaps on either side, Very few appliance repair companies will work on them, make sure whoever you use for repairs likes working on them, They dry poorly if that is important to you and their overall construction is much more flimsy, they are not a great choice unless you are very careful with appliances.

👋🏻
Appnut is 100% correct.
I’d skip the GE.
I was wooed by the features and x arms.
It was inconsistent in its performance.
Things were either beautifully spotless or dirty n gritty.
And it wasn’t durable over time.

I’d definitely recommend a KitchenAid or a Bosch.
My KA has been wonderful!
Anything dirty left is due to my loading error.

HOWEVER!
My racks are starting to rust on the KA too now!
It might be my super soft water.
Can’t win. Too hard or too soft.
The KA racks and electronics ARE warranted for 5yrs.
So I might leverage that soon.

I would definitely consider a Bosch.  I've had two and have had trouble free service from both.  I installed the one in my current house and it was extremely easy.  They clean well, are quiet, and have lots of loading flexibility.
