GE dryer turns off after 10 mins

After it turns off it will say to clean the lint filter I start it again and the dryer will run for 3 mins and turn off. when I take it out the filter is clean.

what year is the dryer? sounds like when my maytag dryer's thermostat failed and it was turning off on high temperature limit

My guess is that the vent is plugged somewhere and the dryer is sensing the low to no airflow and protecting itself by shutting down.

maybe its just your dryer vent outside your house that need to be clean it may be clog by lint over time?

its a 2010 I think. it was here when we got the house.

Moisture Sensor

Try cleaning the moisture sensor inside the drum with some rubbing alcohol. The sensor is two metal strips either in the back or in the front of the drum.

GE Dryer Shutting Down In 10 Minutes

Try running with the dryer with the vent disconnected a few loads if it works then you know you have a vent problem or not.
