GE Fabric Softener Dispensers on the 'bay

Automatic Washer - The world's coolest Washing Machines, Dryers and Dishwashers

Centrifugal Dispenser

These work by centrifugal force, sort of like a solid basket washer. There are two chambers, the inner-chamber and the outer-chamber. When the washer goes into spin the softener rides up the wall of the inner-chamber and goes over the top and hits the wall of the outer-chamber. Since the dispenser is spinning the fabric softener is held to the side of the outer-chamber wall. At the end of spin, the dispenser comes to a stop and the softener falls to the bottom of the outer-chamber where there are holes, the softener exits these holes and falls into the wash basket.

Don't Stop The SPIN!

I have fabric dispensers for my two GE washers, and I am bidding on these as they are NOS, and I will share if I win.

When using these, you cannot stop the spin cycle. If you do, the softener drops into the filter flo pan and then the wash basket and will be lost out the drain when you restart the spin.

It is very cool to watch the softener gragually spin out of the inner chamber and out to the sides, then when the spin stops, it drips into the filter flo pan. Bypass the lid switch to take a look. It is definitely more exciting than pouring softener into a mystery chamber, though the final outcome is the same.

Mike I used to do the same with my 1978 GE filter-flo. Even with sticking a pencil down to btypass lid switch, my hand would get tired and I"d long for the spin to finish LOL.

Are those REALLY little samples of StayPuf and Downey?

I'll bid just for the cute little bottles. Don't own a GE this would work on and would be glad to give the devices away... but the bottles are AWESOME!
