Hey guys,

Does anyone have any suggestions on how to get an old spline off the agitator shaft? I've done all I can think of, torch, clr, lubricants, all with no luck. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Mike

Cheap ......

solution if you only use it once.

You'll use the red discs at top left ...... to cut down one side of the plastic and steel splines of the old agitator and try to pry it open/apart. If that doesn't work, cut thru opposite sides. Even if you cut into the splines of the shaft a little bit, no big deal. They make larger discs (1.5") for this tool, but the red ones should work just fine by taking your time.

Good Luck!

Why to remove?

Hi John,

Thanks for the response! Long story so will save the details, but I have two FF washers, but one agitator. The agitator has a spline in it. The machine I am using has a leak around the boot that I can't get stopped. Replaced the boot, no luck. There's no rust in the outer tub. Just has me perplexed but I have just not had enough time to work on it more I want to use the same agitator between these two machines.

Thanks again for the response!
