I seem to be having problems with my GE Filter Flo washer. During the wash cycle I have a loud banging noise. The tub turns slightly during wash also. I am not sure if this is a big problem or not. Please leave me know.

check and make sure all of your suspension is attached, and the snubbers are in place at all 4 corners of the base.....

not uncommon for a bit of indexing of the tub during agitation.....usually its a slight movement back and forth, if anything, would take about 10 minutes to make one revolution....this was usually seen on the older models....

if there is a lot of indexing, or almost spinning during agitation, then you would want to be concerned....

If the wash tub moves during agitation and bangs occasionally the brake in the transmission is broken, good news this probably wouldn't hurt anything.

My older Brother and sister in law bought a new GE FF around 1984 and the machine did this it whole life, but it was annoying, every 10 to 20 seconds it made a loud bump or bang while agitating, otherwise the washer worked fine.

Normally when a GE FF washer starts agitating the wash basket moves a little till the brake catches and then the basket will not index at all after that. If yours is doing this the brake paw in the transmission is broken.
