Hello washer fans, I was wondering what the difference is between the GE filter-flo and the Westinghouse. Did the Westinghouse have the filter-flo or was it a GE exclusive? How did the agitation action compare? Which washer cleaned better? I will go with the GE filter-flo. What are your thoughts?

There are plenty of videos on Youtube.... have a look.

Many different brands / models had water recirculation for a lint filter. If that is what you consider "filter flo", than no it was not exclusive to GE.

As for agitation, GE's was more vigorous, but both generally cleaned well.[this post was last edited: 2/12/2016-16:10]

Filter-Flo was just a GE marketing name for power circulating lint removal. Virtually every washer from "back in the day" had some kind of power or passive lint removal system due to the prevalence of line drying "in the olden days."

The Westinghouse

Really washes well, it had one bad design flaw, the pump was mounted on TOP of the motor, so if it ever leaked it ruined the motor, other than that, I thought they performed great!

I like the GE...

I like the GE because of its dramatic wash action. I especially like the normal speed especially because I have sturdy cottons. I noticed that when doing cold washes, it sounds very sudsy. Example: load of dark colors.
