I was just asked to look at this "old washer". Its realy a nice clean girl
#wwwa7050gblw serial ddi52849g I think that's right. It is going to need a pump as it does nothing on its own, the belt is good and will drain when you lay hose on floor. How hard is the pump to put on? I have never worked on a Ge or Hotpoint .

I am going to rescue her as its in a rental and owner just wants a good used one that's not so old. I tried to tell her it might outlast a new one but she wants a newer used one. How old might she be?
Thanks for any info and advice on her . Chaz

February 1978........

four hoses.....3 mounting screws.....and a rubber/leather belt clamp....15 minutes top!

and this is a link to the pump.....

are you sure it needs a pump?......normally putting the hose on the floor will not make it drain on its own, without some help in creating a siphon...

I would take the back off first and make sure the clamps are secure from the motor to the pump........

and since your at it, I would replace the belt...save yourself time and headache since your removing the pump....your choice.....their only around 4.00 at AutoZone...

attach some pics when you get a chance.....

Well I did have to help siphon it out.

The tenant is threating not to pay rent if we don't get it fixed.
Id rather get a used one than try to fix this one in place and then I have me a
new toy. The owner of property is afraid there might be more wrong with it.

That's a great price on ebay for the pump. The parts store here wants 70 for one

The one FF I fixed was in 1981, likely a little older than 78. No drain, the flexlink from motor to pump was shredded. Without knowing what I was doing, replaced it in a half hour. If that machine uses the flexlink and it's gone, it's plain to see from behind.

I would just get the renter a good used replacement and scoop up that old filter flo.
As far as threatening to not pay rent, good luck with that. If they are really going to go that route I would let the renter find and pay for the replacement washer, then reimburse them for it. This way if there is any trouble with the newer washer, it doesn't fall on the owner.

I wish I could find a replacement. Our local trader paper came out and I called a bunch of ads and they were sold . This was between 8 and 10 in the morning.

The rental folks around here are either great or use any excuse to not pay or pay late.

The filter flow is going to be put in the basement of a storage house, I doubt it will be used but I will hang on to it.
