Hello,

With a heavy heart I am looking for assistance on fixing the washing machine I once thought would outlive me. I moved into a townhouse a few years ago and inherited the previous owners ge filter flo wwa8608Malwh. It worked perfectly until recently, everything seems normal but it is intermittently leaving small black marks that look like little straight lines on the end of sleeves, collars, etc. I removed the agitator but I just don’t see where these snags could be occurring. I did lots of searching online for this specific problem, and I fear it may be the end of the line for this washer as it’s stained enough clothes already and I’m not sure if a repair bill is worth it. Does anyone have any experience with this issue and resolving it? Any help is greatly appreciated.

Thanks

Matching dryer

I do, and for a while I was not sure which one was leaving the marks. On suggestion from other searches I did replace the front drum glides on the dryer, however on some recent washes I determined that it was definitely the washer and not the dryer. On the plus side, I still have a solid dryer. Thanks for the suggestion though.

I am not sure but it may be the agitator shaft seal that has failed and is leaking oil onto clothes.  My family's 64-ish V12 washer did this however the oil leak caused spots, not streaks on clothes....

Still, it may be a possibility.
